The owners of this business bring with them an abundance of knowledge, talent and expertise from the automobile industry. Born into a family with a long line of automobile perfectionists, beginning with Jerry's grandfather who worked for A Chrysler dealerships as a mechanic for over 50 years, and also working for Dodge Brothers in the early years.Followed by his 3 sons, who combined, have 120 years of experience between them.Including repairing, restoring, racing and winning several Winter Nationals in cars they built. Jerry McKellar and Family are the owners and founders of McKellar's Modified Rides. Jerry McKellar brings to the business 24 years of expertise in the automobile industry as well as boats, heavy equipment and 10 Plus years working in Dealerships. Skills include building engines, transmissions, body and paint work, and air conditioning, although he specializes in modification and fabrication. Having built many cars, his favorite is a 1968 award winning Dodge Charger, which was entirely built, designed and restored by him. The story behind the Charger goes back to when he was 16 years of age. He bought his first Charger and had it dragged home by a tow truck. His parents found it sitting in front of their house without wheels and tires, he had it running by afternoon. Soon to be joined by 2 more '68 Chargers, including the one pictured on this site. It took 10 years to complete the project. One of Jerry's best assets is his attention to detail, sometimes its the little things that count. Jerry has 3 children who share his love for automobiles and bring their own expertise to the business. Starting with eldest son, Gerald whose talents include audio, visual, security, expertise in electronics. Experience in fiberglass, suspension alterations, including hydraulic and air ride suspension and repairing heavy equipment. He is busy now currently restoring his own 1970 Dodge Challenger. Son Chris shares along with Gerald in expertise in audio, visual, security in electronics. Suspension alterations, hydraulic and air ride suspension. Along with a special talent of graphic design. He is currently quite involved in the building and racing of his own IMCA Modified race car. Daughter Carissa like Chris brings to the business a special talent and interest in graphic design, numerous skills in photography and computer. In addition to the parts and accessories now available on this site new products will be added periodically.
